Why I’m Raising Funds for HDF

As longtime teachers at Bishop Miege, we have seen so many young Latino students go on to college and do great things. Their careers in medicine, engineering, education, business… and the economic mobility that follows, were made possible because they went to college.

These individual success stories had ONE thing in common - they had a way to fund it.

But we’ve also seen so many students who missed out on college because the money wasn’t there.

They worked just as hard.
They earned admission to college.
But they simply couldn’t afford to go.

We believe these young Latino students should have the same chance at life as every other young person. The same chance as your kids or ours.

We're asking you to join us and make sure that these students have an equal chance at college and a brighter future.

I’m proud to participate in Cambio para Cambio because I believe in the power of education to create opportunities—not just for individual students, but for families and our entire community. For more than 40 years, HDF has invested in Hispanic students across the Kansas City area through scholarships and college preparation programs, helping students pursue their educational goals and build brighter futures.

Every contribution to my campaign helps create more opportunities for students to access and complete higher education.
