Mac and Velia Salazar were the devoted parents of nine children. This scholarship celebrates their unwavering commitment to education. Through hard work and sacrifice, Mac often worked two jobs to ensure their children stayed focused on their studies. Today, their legacy lives on by supporting students who face financial challenges, helping them stay on track toward a college degree. The scholarship provides support throughout all four years of college and has already helped seven students reach graduation. Though Mac and Velia are no longer with us, this fund honors their memory and carries forward their deep belief that no student should lose sight of their education because of immigration status or financial hardship/challenges.
