"I was given many opportunities by the sacrifices of my parents. I strive to do better and be better for them each and every single day. There are moments in time where I as first-generation feel like a burden. Will there ever be a way to fully repay our parents for all they have done?
College is expensive and putting that financial pressure on my parents who have given so much already is the last thing I want to do. There are moments in time where I feel small and hopeless because I live in a society where it's unfortunate to say, but the odds are not in my favor. However, I do not let this stir me from my direction, instead I lift my head up and aim high. Aim to become a leader, a friend, and a helping hand to others.
Together we can push past limitations that were set up to prevent us from achieving success. We can and we WILL build a better world for future generations."
